Its party time in the college. Students of B. A. II bid farewell to their seniors who will be leaving the college after their exams in April. Tomorrow, B. Com III & BCA III students will be given farewell by their juniors. The Annual Prize Distribution Function of the college, by the way, is going to be held on next Tuesday i. e. 29th of March. Tomorrow being a Sunday, Holi was celebrated today i.e. on 17th March. Colors of HOLI made the colorful life on the campus even more colorful.

College has a new Principal
Mrs. Usha Malik joined as Principal of Govt. College for Girls, Panchkula today after her transfer from Govt. College for Girls, Hisar. Mr. R. S. Sanga, the outgoing Principal, has been transferred to Govt. College, Barwala. Mr. Sanga had joined this college as Principal exactly a year ago, on 11.3.2010. During his short but eventful tenure Mr. Sanga took keen interest in the all round development of the college.

Annual Athletic Meet
4th Annual Athletic Meet of the college was held on 22nd & 23rd Feb., 2011. Principal of the college Sh. R. S. Sanga inaugurated the sports meet on the first day i.e. 22nd Feb. An impressive march past was held by the athletes. On the second day, Chief Guest Mr. O. P. Sihag, Principal Govt. College, Naraingarh gave away the prizes to prize winners. In his address to the students Mr. Sihag underlined the importance of sports in a persons life. Kumari Mamta of B. Com. I was declared the Best Athlete of the college. A Fancy Dress competition was also held on this occasion. Students also performed Gidda, the Punjabi folk dance.

Workshop on Tally ERP 9
Placement Cell of the college and the Commerce Society jointly organised a five-day workshop on accounting software Tally ERP 9 in the newly established computer lab of the college on 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th & 10th February. Each session lasted for three hours. Resource persons having long experience in teaching computerized accounting techniques interacted with the students. Hands on training was also given. More than forty students from the commerce faculty participated in this workshop.

Lecture-cum-training session on "LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT"
“Life skills are the abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”. It is important for everyone to be skilled in all areas to enable himself to compete in the global market.
Noticing the value of skills in one’s life, Placement cell of our college organized a lecture cum training session on Friday 28th Jan. 2011 in the college Conference Hall. Topic of the lecture cum training session was “Life Skills Development”.
The first lecture during training session explained the meaning and importance of life skills whereas in he second lecture was on Interpersonal Relationship. These lectures were delivered by Shri. Arvind Suman Kumaria, Corporate trainers and Motivator, who retired as Asstt. General Manager SBI. Mr. Kumaria has long association with training of SBI employees. This lecture was attended by about 73 students who showed keen interest in this lecture.

Voters' Day
Our college celebrated National Voters Day on 25th January 2011 in the college campus. All the students and Teaching and Non- Teaching Staff of the college administered pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement. Dr. Urmil Sangwan, incharge of Days Celebration delivered a lecture and motivated the students to use their right of casting vote and perform their duty.
