Seminar by Women Cell

On 6 Oct 2010 a National Seminar was oraginzed by "Women Studies and Development Cell" of our college on "Women Empowerment For Social Change".The Seminar was sponsered by the Higher Education Commissioner , Haryana.About 80 Delegates from different academic institutions of the Country participated in this seminar.

Mrs. Pankaj Mittal,

The Chief Guest on this occasion was Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal , Vice Chancellor, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan .While addressing the delegates, students and teachers, she emphasized upon the usefulness of such seminars as they generate awareness  among the youth which is the dire need of the hour.She concluded her address by saying a very inspiring couplet  "कुछ लोग थे जो वक़त के ढांचे में ढल गए, कुछ लोग थे जो वक़त के सांचे बदल गए .

Presidential address was delivered by Ms. Sushila Sharma , Chairperson , Women Commission , Haryana.Key note address was delivered by Dr. Girija Sharma , author of many publications and Professor in Department of English , HP University , Summer Hill , Shimla .Dr. Meenu Paul , Professor in Department of law , PU ,Chandigarh delivered a lecture highlighting the urgent need of women to realize their potential.

45 delegates presented paper on various issues regarding Women Empowerment.

No doubt such deliberations go a long way in  sensitizing the youth towards the discriminatory attitudes and practices that are prevalent in our society against women.This seminar, no doubt, has raised very pertinent issues related to the equality and dignity of women. Let us all resolve to work together towards the betterment and upliftment of women.

Our college is going to organize a one day National Seminar on "Women Empowerment For Social Change"on 6th Oct., 2010.This seminar is sponsored by the Higher Education Commisioner , Haryana.The chief guest of this seminar is Dr. (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal , Vice-Chancellor , BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya , Khanpur Kalan.  Delegates from different college of the state as well as from other institution of North India will assemble to present their research papers.

Celebration of "Gandhi Jayanti"

Our college played host to a function organized by the district administration on the occasion of  "Gandhi Jayanti" today, the 2nd of October, in the Auitorium. The chief guest of the function was Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula,  Mrs. Ashima Brar I.A.S.. The ADC Mr. Sanjeev Verma also graced the occasion with his presence. During the function members of Panchayati Raj institutions were made aware of the schemes which are available for the rural people like NREGA, RTI etc. In order to make the function more attractive a number of dance and singing items were also presented by the students from different schools.Some of the local "self help groups" also put up stalls to display items being manufactured by them.

Maths Olympiad

“The Computer and Math’s Society”  organized “Math’s Olympiad” on 30^th Sep., 2010 in the college Conference Hall at 11:00 AM. This program was organized by Mrs. Anita Soni and judged by our respected lecturers Mrs.Kanchan & Mrs.Kusum.Large number of students took part in this Olympiad but as we know 'there is few cream in the milk', in the same way judges awarded following three students

The motto of this Olympiad was to encourage the students to take part in such type of activities.

Exhibition of Books and DVD's

An exhibition of Books and DVD's on career related issues was organized  in the college library by the Placement Cell on 9th &10th September, 2010 from 9:AM to 4:00PM. More than 300 books purchased out of the placement cell grant were on display. Students showed keen interest in the books related to M. B. A. & other professional courses. Books on Civil Services and other competitive exams were also liked by students.

Sh. H. S. Malik  in the Herbal Garden

Our worthy Principal, Sh. R. S. Sanga is fond of gardening. No wonder among the first activities he planned for  the new session was  setting up of a 'Herbal Garden' in the college campus. On 8th Sep., 2010 the herbal garden was inaugurated by Sh. Hardeep Singh Malik, S.E (Horticulture) HUDA ,Panchkula. Officials of Panchkula Municipal Committee were also present on the occasion.
